Karthikai is the South Indian festival of lights. We light little earthern lamps and decorate the entire house witht them.
Karthikai is my favourite festival because it is so aesthetic. The house, in fact, the entire neighbourhood looks beautiful with little lamps glowing all around. I also love the sweets that are made during karthikai - especially the kadalai urundai (peanut balls). They look good and taste even better.
This time the little one participated big time. She drew the kolams on the front yard, got the lamps ready and decorated the house with them.
